The University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas Community College have joined forces to create a data science curriculum that aligns with one another, making it easier for students to transfer from NWACC to UA in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in the field. This partnership is especially beneficial for first-generation students, such as the recent graduate from Morocco who earned an associate degree at NWACC.

The demand for data scientists is growing rapidly across the nation, making it one of the most sought-after career fields. By developing a comprehensive data science program with NWACC, UA aims to contribute to the growing data science workforce in Arkansas. This partnership also helps UA fulfill its mission of providing service and expanding access to higher education for residents of the state.

This initiative is part of a larger statewide effort to enhance the data science workforce in Arkansas. Career opportunities in data science range from machine learning engineers to data analysts and statisticians. For the latest updates on news, weather, sports, and streaming video, visit KNWA FOX24.
