As a journalist, you have been invited to participate in a 15-minute research study on science-based communication. The focus of the study is to understand how journalists evaluate and report on social science research. Your input is crucial in developing best practices for communicating scientific information.

There are two compensation options available: either no compensation or a $20 gift card. If you choose the latter, you will receive an email from the University of Alabama with instructions on how to redeem the card, typically within 3 weeks of participation.

If you have industry contacts who are also journalists or journalism students and may be interested in participating in the study, please feel free to share this email with them.

The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your individual responses will remain anonymous and your privacy will be valued. The results of the study will be used to inform further research on best practices for communicating scientific information and will be reported in scientific publications and presentations.

The project is being conducted by Dr. Alexa Tullett’s social psychology laboratory at the University of Alabama, with support from the National Science Foundation. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and insights.
