Joey Logano, who recently won the Cup race at Nashville, will be taking over for Hailie Deegan in the No. 15 car at AM Racing for the Xfinity Series race in Chicago. Despite struggling in her rookie campaign, finishing 28th in the last race and placing 25th or worse in 11 out of 17 races this season, Deegan’s best result so far was a 12th place finish at Talladega and she currently ranks 27th in points among drivers who have started all 17 Xfinity races.

Wade Moore, president of AM Racing team stated that competition in the Xfinity Series is extremely intense and their goal is to field a competitive race team with the help of their technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing. Although they haven’t had much success during the first half of the season, Moore believes that having Joey Logano behind the wheel at Chicago will provide valuable knowledge and feedback to help them improve and grow as a team.

Logano is one of nine drivers who will be competing in both the Xfinity and Cup races at Chicago, including AJ Allmendinger, Kyle Larson, Ty Gibbs, John Hunter Nemechek, Austin Hill, Daniel Suarez, Shane van Gisbergen, and Josh Bilicki. Coverage for the Xfinity event begins at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday on NBC while coverage for the Cup event starts at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday on NBC and Peacock.
