A packed Plumas Park Gym was the site of a rally for Joe Biden, as over 200 seniors, local officials, candidates and volunteers gathered to listen to the First Lady. The atmosphere was electric with Jane Fonda joining the event, adding to the excitement.

During her speech, Biden addressed a common concern among voters – the age of President Biden, who is 81. He compared his age to that of former President Donald Trump, who turned 78 recently. Biden emphasized that the election is about character, not age.

One attendee, 92-year-old Reno resident Janice Flanagan, expressed her support for President Biden and his efforts to address important issues like access to abortion, women’s rights and erasing student loan debt. Flanagan believes Biden has many more years ahead of him and is hopeful for positive changes under his administration.

Some attendees were eager to hear more about the administration’s plans to tackle affordable housing and rising food and gas costs for seniors. Biden’s visit marked the campaign’s first major event in Northern Nevada since the primary election, with a lineup of current and former Nevada elected officials stressing the importance of re-electing Biden and Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen over their challengers in order to maintain control of the U.S Senate and White House.
