Jinergy’s New Offshore Solar Modules Enhanced for Marine Environments

Jinergy recently unveiled its new offshore solar modules, specifically designed to withstand the harsh conditions of marine environments. The company has utilized high-quality materials such as module glass, frame, junction box, encapsulation material, and sealing silicone to ensure reliability in these challenging circumstances.

The decision to develop these enhanced modules was driven by the numerous advantages offered by offshore solar installations. These include easy access for transmission, lower rental costs, and favorable lighting conditions. To achieve this improved resistance to salt spray corrosion, Jinergy employed a two-layer coating glass, reinforced seal junction boxes and connectors, low water permeability encapsulation material, and sealing silicone. Additionally, two types of frame solutions were used – an aluminum frame with increased anodized thickness and a polyurethane composite frame.

The use of these advanced materials has led to enhanced performance and reliability during long-term use. These modules are highly resistant to water vapor intrusion and offer efficient power generation. The economics of offshore PV systems are improving steadily as initial investments are offset by large-scale production, optimized design, increased power generation efficiency and support from policies and environmental benefits.
