Tae Hayes, the 26-year-old cornerback who joined the Jets’ practice squad in October and played in one game for the team, was released following his arrest on Sunday morning for marijuana possession. The team initially acknowledged Hayes’ arrest in a statement but did not provide further comment on the matter.

Hayes entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and has had stints with several teams, including the Jaguars, Dolphins, Vikings, Cardinals, Panthers, Patriots, Lions, and Ravens. Following his arrest, Hayes was released early Sunday morning after posting a $300 bond.
