Early Sunday morning, Tae Hayes, a cornerback for the Jets, was arrested in Alabama and charged with marijuana possession. The charge is a second-degree misdemeanor according to reports. Hayes, 26, was taken into custody in Morgan County at 3:46 a.m. and released at 5:07 a.m. after posting a $300 bond.

In 2023, Hayes played one game for the Jets, participating in 13 defensive snaps and 10 on special teams, resulting in two tackles. This marked his only appearance during the regular season that year. Since entering the NFL as an undrafted player from Appalachian State in 2019, Hayes has been with nine different teams and has played in the regular season for six of them.

Throughout his NFL career, Hayes has played in 14 games, with no interceptions, two passes defended, and a total of 18 tackles. The Jets acknowledged his arrest in a statement but stated they would not comment further as it is a pending legal matter.
