Edith P. Mitchell, MD, MACP, FCCP, FRCP (London), has been named enterprise vice president for cancer disparities at Jefferson Health’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.
In this new part, Mitchell will be accountable for establishing and coordinating operations for cancer care disparities across Jefferson.
She will oversee a group focused on cancer care excellent and expense-effectiveness, as effectively as patient-oriented outcomes. She also will concentrate on identifying and eliminating barriers to care, specifically these associated to socioeconomic, racial or ethnic disparities and social determinants of well being.

Mitchell also serves as director of Center to Remove Cancer Disparities and clinical professor of medicine and healthcare oncology at Jefferson Health’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. She joined Jefferson in 1995.
Her analysis has focused on barriers to clinical trial participation, as effectively as novel drug evaluation and new therapy regimens for individuals with breast cancer or gastrointestinal cancers.
