In an interview during the Commanders offseason program, Jayden Daniels discussed his current position on the team. According to head coach Dan Quinn, Daniels is not yet considered a star or starter on the team. While Marcus Mariota, a free agent signing, has been receiving first-team reps alongside Daniels, Quinn emphasized that no decision has been made regarding the starting quarterback position at this point in time. Despite Daniels’ progress since being drafted second overall, Quinn did not reveal when a starting quarterback would be named. While it is unlikely that Daniels will start the season on the bench given his high draft position, the team is not rushing to crown him as the starter just yet.
