On Wednesday, the Oaks Christian boys golf team finished in second place at the CIF/SCGA Southern State Regional Championship at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills. The team posed with the runner-up plaque and secured a spot in next Thursday’s state championship.

The impressive performance of the Lions was led by senior Jared Abercrombie, who shot a 7-under-par 67 to finish second overall behind Diamond Bar sophomore Logan Park. Sophomore Max Emberson, who won the CIF-Southern Section individual title the previous week, tied for 14th place with a 3-under 71. Freshman Broxton Borck had a 2-under 72 to tie for 19th, while sophomore Graham Christopher shot a 1-under 73 to tie for 29th.
