Japan has once again emerged victorious in the mixed team events at the World Judo Championships, securing their seventh consecutive gold medal since 2017. In the 13-nation tournament featuring teams with three men and three women each, Japan defeated Germany 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Uzbekistan 4-1 in the semifinals before claiming victory over France by the same score in the final held in Abu Dhabi.
In the individual events leading up to Thursday, Japan secured gold medals through Ryoma Tanaka in the men’s 66-kg, Goki Tajima in the men’s 90-kg, and Wakaba Tomita in the women’s over-78-kg categories.
