Club Brugge has announced the departure of Japanese forward Shion Homma, who left the club to return to Japan. Although Homma made a few appearances for the first team and scored a crucial goal that prevented Union St Gilloise from winning the title in his first season in Belgium, he struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team squad. As a result, he has decided to go back to Japan and will now be playing for Urawa Reds in the J League.

Despite limited appearances, Homma demonstrated his talent on the pitch. However, Club Brugge had a strong roster of players in his position, making it difficult for him to break into the first team. Prior to joining Club Brugge, Homma played 131 games for Albirex Niigata, scoring 22 goals and providing 22 assists. He was also a key player for Club NXT, the second team of Club Brugge, where he featured in 47 matches in the Belgian second tier, scoring six goals and contributing 10 assists.

Homma’s move back to Japan presents him with a new opportunity to establish himself as a regular starter and showcase his skills in the J League. The young forward is determined to prove himself on home soil and make a name for himself in Japanese football.
