Ambassador Ito Naoki recently praised the strong relationship between Vietnam and Japan, highlighting the potential for further economic cooperation and labor training opportunities. During a press conference in Hanoi on June 28, he emphasized the significant progress made in bilateral relations over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, particularly in the last decade since elevating the relationship to an Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.

Ambassador Ito expressed Japan’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s development goals, especially as Vietnam aims to become a developed country by 2045. He highlighted Japan’s role in providing ODA to Vietnam over the past 30 years and stressed the importance of expanding cooperation into new areas such as energy development, green transformation, and digital transformation. In addition to economic cooperation, Ambassador Ito discussed the importance of Vietnamese labor resources in Japan, noting the contributions of Vietnamese workers in various sectors. Japan is actively seeking to enhance the mechanisms for receiving Vietnamese workers and create a safe and secure working environment for them. The Ambassador emphasized the benefits of Vietnamese workers gaining skills and experience in Japan and returning to Vietnam to contribute to its development.

Ambassador Ito underscored his commitment to further promoting and deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan during his term. He expressed gratitude for the expectations of Vietnamese leaders, government agencies, businesses, and the people. Ambassador Ito emphasized his dedication to meeting these expectations and strengthening the bonds between the two countries.
