In a devastating blow to the Jaguars, wide receiver David White Jr.’s journey to make the team has been cut short. During a Monday press conference, head coach Doug Pederson confirmed that White had torn his ACL during a practice last week. White himself had announced his injury over the weekend, and Pederson expressed well wishes for his recovery.

Although White went undrafted earlier this year from Western Carolina, he had a successful season last year with 34 catches for 519 yards and six touchdowns. His injury leaves a gap in the team’s receiver depth chart.

With White out of the picture, first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. now joins a talented group of receivers at the top of the depth chart in Jacksonville. This group includes Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Parker Washington, Tim Jones, and Devin Duvernay. As the team moves forward without White, they will likely look to these players to step up and fill his absence on the field.
