The Jacksonville Jaguars have added Australian tight end Patrick Murtagh to their team as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. Due to his status as an international player, Murtagh does not count against the team’s 90-man roster limit.

Murtagh officially signed with the Jaguars on Monday and has since participated in a scouting combine in London and been training at the renowned IMG Academy in Florida. Prior to pursuing a career in the NFL, Murtagh played Australian Rules Football in his home country, showcasing his athletic abilities and potential as a professional football player.

In addition to being exempt from the roster limit, the Jaguars have the option to carry Murtagh as a 17th practice squad player if he does not make the final 53-man roster at the end of the summer. This provides the team with some flexibility in developing Murtagh as a player and potentially keeping him in the organization.
