Jack Nicklaus has decided to move the Memorial Tournament back to its original spot on Memorial Day weekend. This decision was made after Nicklaus agreed to work with the PGA Tour on their new schedule, which involved moving the tournament to a different date. Originally named for Memorial Day weekend, the tournament will now return to its roots and take place from May 26 to June 1 next year.

After discussions with the PGA Tour, Nicklaus explained that it was best for the Memorial Tournament to move back to its traditional spot on the calendar. The new schedule will have the tournament take place two weeks before the U.S. Open at Oakmont, with U.S. Open qualifying taking place after the Memorial Tournament. This change marks a return to tradition for the Memorial Tournament, as it will once again be held on Memorial Day weekend.

Nicklaus expressed his willingness to work with the PGA Tour and make these adjustments to benefit the tournament and its place in the golf calendar. Moving back to its original date is seen as a positive change for the tournament and its fans, who are looking forward to celebrating this important event once again on its traditional weekend.
