In an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, confirmed that she will be attending the Republican National Convention where her father will officially accept the nomination for president. While Ivanka played a major role in her father’s campaigns in 2016 and 2020, she has not been as visible this time around. Despite stepping back from politics, Ivanka will be at the event solely as a family member and not in any official political capacity.

During the interview, Ivanka expressed how painful it was for her to witness her father’s legal troubles, particularly in the hush money case. She emphasized the personal aspect of the situation, stating that it is difficult to see her father go through such a tough time. However, she also stated that on a human level, she loves him very much and wishes it didn’t have to be this way.

Ivanka explained that her decision to step back from politics was primarily rooted in her role as a parent. She noted the challenges of balancing a political career with her responsibilities to her children and emphasized that politics is not something that can be done part-time. “I think you have to either be all in or all out,” Ivanka shared. Additionally, she noted that the negativity and darkness of the political world are not aligned with what feels right for her as a person. “There’s a lot of darkness, a lot of negativity, and it’s just really at odds with what feels good for me as a human being,” she said.

Despite stepping back from politics, Ivanka Trump remains committed to supporting her family and loved ones during these challenging times. She expressed hope that America can come together to move forward and work towards creating a better future for everyone.
