The Italian team’s Euro 2024 campaign ended in disappointment on Saturday night as they lost 2-0 to Switzerland in the Round of 16. Despite their best efforts, Luciano Spalletti’s Azzurri struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to overcome their northern neighbors.

One positive takeaway from the match was Nicolo Fagioli’s first start in Germany this summer. He played 86 minutes and showed promise on the pitch. Federico Chiesa, who also started the game, put in a solid performance until the final whistle. Andrea Cambiaso made his third appearance of the tournament when he came off the bench.

Unfortunately, Federico Gatti once again found himself among the substitutes and was unable to make an impact on the game. The Italian team will now have to regroup and focus on future competitions after their disappointing exit from Euro 2024.
