The Israeli defense industry is undergoing a shift, as a new young company is making strides in developing a unique aircraft. Atis Aviation, established about two and a half years ago in Caesarea, is working on the development of the ROC system, a UAV intended for both civil and military applications. This UAV, with a maximum take-off weight of 150 kg, features a VTOL design, allowing it to take off and land vertically. It is equipped to carry up to 40 kg of sensors or cargo and can remain airborne for over 20 hours. The hybrid propulsion system includes electric motors and a jet fuel engine.

Atis Aviation’s ROC system is designed to meet civil aviation standards, allowing it to operate in the same airspace as manned aircraft. It is particularly suited for paramilitary applications such as firefighting, where UAVs play an increasingly important role in detection and fire management. The system can operate without GPS, making it versatile for various environments, including marine and urban settings. With a one-pilot operation and quick deployment, the ROC system offers a tactical solution for a variety of missions.
