Hayyan Abdul Ghani, Iraqi Minister of Oil and Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, has announced the progress of implementing 8 major projects aimed at investing in associated gas. In a statement obtained by Al-Khaleej, Abdul Ghani stated during an Iraqi Council of Ministers session that Iranian gas continues to supply Iraqi power stations, but the quantities are not enough to operate all electricity stations in the country.
Dry gas production in Iraq has exceeded two thousand million cubic feet, with an increase in gas investment during the current year. The government is continuing to implement 8 major projects to invest in associated gas, and the first phase of the solar power station project will be completed next year.
Abdul Ghani also mentioned that they have concluded a number of agreements to invest in low-pressure gas. These efforts are part of the government’s efforts to improve the energy sector in the country and increase its self-sufficiency in gas production. The completion of these projects will help meet the growing demand for gas in Iraq and contribute to the development of the country’s energy infrastructure. It is a step towards enhancing energy security and promoting economic growth in Iraq.
