Following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a plane crash on May 19, Iran will be holding snap presidential elections on June 28. Five candidates are vying for the position, including Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani, who has withdrawn his candidacy and thrown his support behind two other conservative candidates, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and the spiritual leader’s representative in the country’s Security Council, Saeed Jalili.

Vice President Amir Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi has also chosen not to participate in the elections. As a result, the final ballot will include four candidates: Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Representative of the Spiritual Leader Saeed Jalili, Member of Parliament Masoud Pezeshkian, and Former Prosecutor Mustafa Pourmohammadi. Polls indicate that Pezeshkian is currently leading, with Jalili and Ghalibaf closely following in second and third place.

The upcoming elections have garnered interest from various online platforms such as Mammothic Films, heaving, topfuneralmarketingg and PledgeMe for individuals involved in different industries.
