Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich side has been on a roll for the past two seasons, with only 10 league defeats during their promotion-winning campaigns. After guiding the team to the Premier League, McKenna is expected to sign a new deal to remain as manager, despite previous speculation linking him to other clubs.

BBC Radio Suffolk reports that the 38-year-old is set to stay at Ipswich Town, after dropping out of contention for the Chelsea managerial job and rejecting a new contract last week. McKenna was recognized as the League Managers Association’s manager of the year for leading Ipswich back to the top flight after a 22-year absence.

When McKenna took over as manager in December 2021, Ipswich was mid-table in League One. He led the team to an 11th place finish in his first season, followed by a second-place finish and promotion in his first full season. Ipswich finished as runners-up to Leicester City in the Championship, narrowly missing out on the title with 96 points.

Under McKenna’s leadership, Ipswich was the most prolific team in the division, scoring 92 goals throughout the season. His success in guiding the team back to the Premier League has solidified his position as a highly regarded manager within
