Ipswich is set to sign Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson in a club-record deal worth £20m, with potential add-ons of £2.5m based on performance. Last season, Hutchinson made 20 starts for Ipswich in the Championship and 24 appearances off the bench. He was the top priority for Ipswich after his impressive loan spell at the club, where he scored 10 goals and provided six assists. This contributed significantly to Ipswich’s unexpected automatic promotion to the league under manager Kieran McKenna. The transfer will also benefit Chelsea by allowing them to meet Premier League financial regulations. Hutchinson originally represented England up to under-19 level but has since switched his allegiance to Jamaica. He has made two appearances for Chelsea after transferring from Arsenal in 2022.
