The Iowa High School Sports Awards, presented by SCHEELS, have announced the nominees for the Boys and Girls Track and Field Athletes of the Year. These awards are part of a larger nine-month student-athlete recognition program that culminates in a red-carpet show celebrating athletes, coaches, and teams from across the state that participate in Iowa high school sports.
Nominated athletes who RSVP will receive complementary tickets to the event, thanks to sponsors. Nominees can also register for the event, while guests can purchase tickets online. More information about the show can be found on its website where interested parties can also sign up for updates.
The nominees for Boys Track and Field Athletes of the Year sponsored by Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling include athletes from various schools such as Ankeny, Akron-Westfield, and Iowa City West, among others. On the other hand, the nominees for Girls Track and Field Athletes of the Year, also sponsored by Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling, represent schools like Clear Lake, Valley, and Waukee Northwest.
The winners of these categories will be announced during a live show on June 10 at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines. Along with the Track and Field Athletes of the Year, other awards will be presented during the show, including Player of the Year for 20 other recognized sports, Courage Award
