Hamas and the Palestinian Authority both welcomed the International Court of Justice’s decision for Israel to halt its operations in Rafah. According to presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh, this decision represents an international consensus to end the war in Gaza.

Senior Hamas official Basem Naim stated that they believe the Court’s decision is not enough, as the occupation’s aggression across the Gaza Strip remains brutal and dangerous. Hamas called on the United Nations Security Council to implement the International Court of Justice decision and welcomed the court’s request to allow investigation committees to reach the Gaza Strip to probe allegations of genocide against the Palestinian people.

Israel has denied allegations of genocide in its war in Gaza, which has been ongoing for eight months. Naim pledged Hamas’s cooperation with the investigation committees in light of the court’s decision. The situation in Gaza remains tense, with the international community closely monitoring developments in the region.
