Instagram content creators in the United States can now create their own ‘chatbots’ using Meta’s AI Studio platform. These personalized assistants will be developed using AI technology and will provide content creators with new tools to engage with their followers more effectively.

In September last year, Meta announced its plans to introduce generative AI (GenAI) to its platforms to enhance user interactions with AI agents like the Meta AI assistant and the EMU sticker generator. The company has now extended the AI Studio platform to content creators, allowing them to test a new feature on Instagram.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, announced on his Instagram channel that the company is currently testing a feature that allows interaction with ‘chatbots’ created by content creators. These assistants will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks, appearing in the direct messages section and labeled as AI to indicate that they are automated responses.

This experimental phase will allow users to test the functionality of these chatbots and provide feedback on their effectiveness. The purpose of these tools is to explore different formulas that generate trust and entertainment for users. Through these tests, Meta aims to determine the best ways to leverage AI for creators and businesses on the platform.
