Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute and virtual specialty care company Story Health have partnered to develop a program for patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib). This program will include features such as lifestyle recommendations, medication monitoring, and identifying patients who may benefit from procedures like ablation. The program is set to launch in the coming months and will provide California-based Story Health coaches for patients between visits.

Story Health CEO and cofounder Tom Stanis highlighted that the digital health program was developed in collaboration with Saint Luke’s experts to empower clinicians and improve patient outcomes. The goal of the AFib program is to enhance patient care while reducing the burden on clinicians, ensuring that no patient is left behind in their care journey.

Last year, Story Health also partnered with West Virginia University’s Heart and Vascular Institute and Intermountain Health to offer monitoring and engagement support for patients and help providers manage heart failure patients outside of the clinical setting. The company recently secured $22.6 million in Series A funding and continues to expand its services in the heart health space. Other companies in this field include Eko Health, CardioSignal, CardioOne, and Ultromics, all of which focus on digital solutions for cardiac health.
