The annual Police Athletic League science fair took place at the PAL center in Longwood, where students from across the five boroughs showcased their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math. The event brought together young engineers in training from fifth through eighth grade to display their projects focused on natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and more for at least 20 seconds.

The participants were tasked with creating structures capable of withstanding such disasters, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills. The projects featured designs resembling bridges, highways, and armories.

The first-place winner of the science fair received a $500 prize to fund a STEM project at their center. This encouraged continued exploration and learning in the fields of science and technology. The event was an opportunity for students not only to demonstrate their skills but also to inspire a passion for STEM education and innovation.
