Grange School, a Greater Manchester school with an on-site working farm and a student-run coffee shop, has been shortlisted for the T4 Education award in the World’s Best School Prizes. This is a significant achievement as it marks the first time a Greater Manchester school has been recognized in this way. The nomination comes with the possibility of winning $10,000 (£7,783), which would be a valuable addition to the school’s resources.

Head teacher Rachael Clifford expressed her excitement about the nomination and thanked everyone at the school for their hard work and dedication. She mentioned that the success of Grange School was not only due to the efforts of the staff but also to the support of the local community. The school caters to around 260 pupils ranging from three years old to 19 and has been rated as outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.

Clifford described Grange School as an “inspirational learning environment in which pupils thrive.” She emphasized that innovation was at the heart of everything they did at Grange School and that they were always looking for ways to improve their teaching methods and provide better opportunities for their students. The school’s commitment to innovation had helped them stand out from other schools in their area, earning them this recognition.

Four other UK schools have also been shortlisted for various awards in the World’s Best School Prizes, which aims to celebrate schools that make a difference. In September, three finalists for each category will be announced, with winners revealed in November. In addition to this recognition, Grange School will also receive votes from members of their local community who can vote online until June 28th. If they receive the most votes, they will be awarded the Community Choice Award and membership to T4 Education’s best school to work program, which supports teacher wellbeing and recruitment and retention efforts.

Overall, being nominated for this prestigious award is a testament to Grange School’s commitment to excellence in education and their dedication towards providing students with an unforgettable learning experience.
