Eloy Jiménez, a star player for the Chicago White Sox, has been sent to the Arizona Complex League, a rookie-level affiliate of the team, to begin a rehab assignment following his second injury of the season. Jiménez suffered a hamstring injury while rounding third base on May 21 during a game against the Toronto Blue Jays and was initially placed on the 10-day Injured List. However, he was later sidelined for four to six weeks due to the severity of his injury.
Prior to this most recent injury, Jiménez had been having an impressive season, batting .213/.288/.381 with five home runs, five doubles, and 12 RBI in 134 at-bats. Despite missing 12 games due to a left adductor strain in April, he had been making progress and showing promise as one of the top prospects in baseball.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until Jiménez returns to action before they can see him back in action on the diamond. However, they can stay updated on his progress by following the White Sox Talk Podcast.
