India has retained its position as the world’s top-ranked T20I team, with 264 points and a seven-point lead over Australia, which is currently in second place. England has fallen to third place, trailing Australia by five points and holding a two-point advantage over South Africa, which is in fourth place. New Zealand and the West Indies are also ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, with 250 points each. Pakistan has dropped to seventh place. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Ireland remain in positions eight through eleven.

In recent years, India has played 20 T20I matches, winning 13 of them while losing five. One match ended without a result. The Indian team has just announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, which will be co-hosted by the West Indies and USA. Rohit Sharma will lead the team as captain, with Hardik Pandya serving as vice-captain.
