In recent times, India has been actively involved in the production of missiles and drones for Israel, according to a report on Al Jazeera. Zain Hussein from the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) revealed that New Delhi’s primary focus with Jerusalem is on missile manufacturing. Premier Explosives in India produces vital components for rocket engines used in Israeli defense mechanisms such as the Barak air defense system, possibly parts for the Arrow 2 and Arrow 3 air defense systems.
Apart from missiles, cooperation between India and Israel extends to drones. Elbit Systems works with Gautam Adani’s defense and space division to produce Hermes 900 and 450 drones. These drones, based on Israeli designs, aid both countries by providing Israel with a production facility outside its borders while allowing India to acquire drone manufacturing technology. Additionally, India launched its own drone, the Drishti 10 Starliner based on the Hermes model.
In recent years, there have been controversies surrounding shipments from India to Israel. For instance, Spain refused entry to ships suspected of carrying explosives for Israel. On the other hand, Morocco approved the IDF’s new amphibious assault ship, Achi Kommiam, for a stopover despite protests within the country. This decision sparked outrage across Morocco, particularly in Tangier, causing significant tension in the region.
