The winners had been announced in creative ways throughout the tournament, and Virat Kohli was the recipient of the final medal.

After India’s semi-final match against New Zealand, Dilip declared Ravindra Jadeja as the winner through a dressing-room TV announcement. Suryakumar Yadav, who had previously won the medal, presented it to Jadeja with a touch of poetry. In other locations, announcements for other medal recipients were made in various creative manners such as groundsmen holding up signs and using Spidercam technology.

In Mumbai, Sachin Tendulkar announced Shreyas Iyer as the medal winner after India defeated Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, in Lucknow, after their win over England, the winner was illuminated in a dark stadium.
