Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met with the T20 World Cup winning cricket team at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM). The team, led by Rohit Sharma, emerged victorious in the tournament held in the USA and the Caribbean by defeating South Africa in the final match. However, their journey back to Delhi was delayed due to a category 4 hurricane in Bridgetown, Barbados.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi had an engaging conversation with the players about their experiences during the tournament. He later shared this experience on social media platform ‘X’, stating, “An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament.”

A video released by the Prime Minister’s Office showcased the players in a relaxed conversation with Modi at his center. The team, dressed in special jerseys labeled ‘CHAMPIONS’ with two stars above the Team India crest, symbolizing their two T20 World Cup victories, appeared happy as they engaged with the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah presented Prime Minister Modi with a personalized Team India jersey featuring ‘NAMO’ and the number ‘1’. This was a token of appreciation and respect towards PM Modi for his support of cricket in India.
