In 2024, the Indian men’s cricket team will be celebrating their T20 World Cup victory in a way that is reminiscent of their triumph in 2007 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, will hold an open bus parade followed by a small function at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The journey to India was not without its challenges. The team was stranded in Barbados for three days due to hurricane Beryl before taking a specially arranged ‘Long Range’ Air India chartered aircraft to Delhi late at night, which was Wednesday afternoon in India. Upon their arrival in New Delhi in the early hours of Thursday, Rohit Sharma and the team are expected to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast. Following that, they will board a chartered flight to Mumbai.

In 2007, after their inaugural T20 World Cup win, the Indian team also celebrated with an open bus parade in Mumbai. This year’s victory marks their second title win in this format of cricket and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the players and coaches.
