In the scorching heat of India, voters have shown their resilience by casting their votes in the final phase of the country’s staggered elections. This phase will determine the fate of 904 candidates, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The elections, which began on April 19th, have been the largest electoral exercise in the world, with a total of 969 million eligible voters.

On Saturday, during the seventh phase of voting, 57 seats across eight states and union territories are up for grabs as voters select members of parliament for the 18th Lok Sabha, the lower house of parliament. The turnout in the previous six phases ranged from 60.5 to 67.3 percent, showing a strong participation from eligible voters.

The results of these elections are eagerly awaited and are expected to be announced on June 4th. The outcome will have significant implications for the future direction of India under the leadership of winning candidates. Despite facing various challenges such as heatwaves and logistical hurdles, Indian voters have demonstrated their commitment to exercising their right to vote and shaping India’s future destiny.
