The Indian team has been praised for their exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship after winning the T20 World Cup. Following their victory against South Africa in the final match held in Barbados, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made the announcement of a bonus of INR 125 crore (USD 15 million) for the squad. This was announced a day after India’s thrilling win, and Shah congratulated all players, coaches, and support staff for their outstanding achievement.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had previously announced that the winners of the T20 World Cup would receive a cash prize of USD 2.45 million, with an additional USD 31,154 for each match won by every team except the semi-finals and finals. This year’s cash prize is the highest in the history of men’s T20 World Cups, representing a significant increase from previous tournaments. Overall, all teams participating in this year’s tournament received more prize money than ever before, with a total prize money of USD 11.25 million – more than double from USD 5.6 million in 2022.

As runners-up, South Africa will receive USD 1.28 million while losing semi-finalists Afghanistan and England will each receive USD 787,500. These increases in prize money have made this year’s tournament one of the most lucrative in the history of men’s cricket.

In conclusion, India’s victory at this year’s T20 World Cup has resulted in significant financial rewards for both them and other teams participating in the tournament. The ICC has shown its commitment to making cricket more lucrative for players by increasing prizes and providing more opportunities for growth within the sport.
