LaDonna Lynn Phelps, a devoted Christian and loving wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at her home in Newton Falls. She was born to Leon and Lillian Reynolds Garrett on January 16th, 1959 in Elberton, Georgia. LaDonna was a graduate of Elbert County High School and later went on to attend Athens Technical School where she earned her nursing degree.

For over three decades, LaDonna worked as a nurse before retiring from her last job at Victoria House in 2021. In her free time, she enjoyed various hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, baking, playing the piano and painting pictures. On April 25th, 1995 LaDonna married the love of her life Walter Phelps.

LaDonna is survived by her mother Lillian Reynolds Garrett; husband Walter Phelps; sons Wesley Davis and Tyler Phelps; daughter Julie Davis; brother Keith Garrett; sisters Saronda Garrett-Chandler , Sherry Garrett-Jones and Tammie Garrett-Brown; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her father Leon Garrett passed away before her.

The family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association Northern Ohio chapter in honor of LaDonna’s memory. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21st at Bernard P Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls where services will be held at 6 p.m
