Parents and guardians are being encouraged by the Port Arthur Health Department to begin planning for their children’s immunizations for the upcoming school year. To assist with this, the Immunization Office is hosting clinics on June 1, June 15, and July 13 from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Health Department located at 5860 9th Avenue. These clinics are aimed at helping students get their required immunizations in advance.

In addition to the regular clinics, there will be a special clinic at Memorial High School during the Back-2-School Fun Fest on Saturday, July 20. Parents are advised to bring their child’s immunization record for reference during the clinics.

For more information about immunization requirements for school admittance, you can download the PDF document of the FAQs. The document covers requirements for pre-kindergarten, childcare, and students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

By taking advantage of these clinics and ensuring your child is up to date on their immunizations, you can help them start the school year on the right foot. Don’t wait until the last minute – plan ahead and protect your child’s health.
