The Giants head coach, Brian Daboll, praised second-year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt for his significant improvement after a disappointing rookie season. Daboll noted that Hyatt has shown tremendous progress in understanding his role out of the huddle and pre-snap, which is a promising sign for the young player.

During the ninth OTA session, Daboll spoke to the media about Hyatt’s progress coming into this year’s offseason program. The Giants traded up in the third round of last year’s NFL draft to select Hyatt, known for his speed and playmaking ability. Expectations were high for Hyatt after an impressive college career, but quarterback issues and inconsistency limited his production in his rookie year. Despite catching 23 of 40 targets for 373 yards, Hyatt did not score any touchdowns in his seven starts.

The Giants are looking to utilize Hyatt’s speed on the outside, pairing him with rookie Malik Nabers and slot receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. Additionally, Hyatt is expected to line up in the slot in certain formations to maximize his potential on the field. Overall, the Giants are optimistic about Hyatt’s development and his potential impact on the offense in the upcoming season.
