The Hurricane County Bank Sports Complex, a new addition to the Hurricane Bridge Park in Hurricane, West Virginia, is now officially open for the summer season. This complex features four baseball fields and Mayor Scott Edwards believes that it will have a positive impact on local businesses.

Mayor Edwards emphasized the importance of providing amenities for the community while expressing his excitement about showcasing the city and county to visitors. He stressed that although they do not want excessive growth, investing in top-notch facilities for the youth in Hurricane is essential for building a stronger community.

Ashley Alford Glance, president of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, advised local businesses to be prepared for increased foot traffic due to tournaments at the sports complex. She expressed optimism about future growth in Putnam County and the potential for more recreational opportunities in the area.

In addition to baseball fields, Hurricane Bridge Park also offers a disc golf course, batting cages, and a baseball-themed playground. Sixty teams are scheduled to compete at various parks in Putnam County, with the first game set for 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 1. The community is looking forward to the exciting events and activities planned for the summer season.
