In a surprising announcement, two-way lineman Stephon Shivers has decided to transfer from Georgia football to Brentwood Academy for the upcoming TSSAA football season. Shivers, a three-star defensive lineman, is committed to improving the Eagles’ performance after their disappointing 2-10 season in 2023.

Shivers stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 355 pounds, making him one of the most imposing players on the field. He is ranked as the No. 18 prospect in Tennessee for the 2025 class and holds offers from numerous schools, including Tennessee, Michigan, and Auburn. Despite Humboldt’s winless season in 2023, Shivers recorded an impressive record of 90 tackles, 11 sacks, and 10 forced fumbles. His valuable experience will be a valuable asset to Brentwood Academy.

Under the coaching of Paul Wade, a four-time TSSAA state championship head coach, Shivers will have an opportunity to contribute to a program with a history of success. Wade took over as head coach at Brentwood Academy recently and has won three state championships at Davidson Academy and one at DCA. With their impressive track record of winning fourteen state championships, Brentwood Academy is known as a powerhouse in TSSAA football history.

As Shivers looks forward to his upcoming season with Brentwood Academy, he is determined to make a difference for his new team through growth and perseverance. The talented player is excited about this new challenge and opportunity to achieve success on the field while contributing to a program that has such great tradition and success in TSSAA football history.
