Kelly Martinez, a frequent visitor to the zoo, expressed her excitement about the pandas’ return, calling it “very, very exciting.” She can hardly wait to see them out and about during her visits. Representatives from the San Diego Zoo’s Wildlife Alliance and Mayor Todd Gloria recently attended a farewell ceremony for the pandas in China as they prepared to make their journey back to San Diego.
Dr. Megan Owen from the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance shared that the pandas will have a significantly larger habitat in San Diego, designed to resemble their natural environment. This new environment will provide an exciting and engaging space for the pandas to explore once they have settled in.
