OPPO has been dedicated to bringing artificial intelligence (AI) functions to smartphones and making this technology accessible to all users. The company has invested heavily in AI technology, with over 5,000 patents in the past decade, and about 70 percent of them related to AI. This commitment has been highlighted by Darren Chen, OPPO’s Director of AI Technology Strategy.

Operating from its new AI Center, OPPO is developing features that will be integrated into all its product lines. One such feature is AI Eraser, a tool that allows users to effortlessly delete specific elements from an image with high accuracy. This tool has received positive feedback and is being used up to 15 times daily on devices like the OPPO Reno 11 series.

In addition to AI Eraser, OPPO has collaborated with Google to introduce features like the large language model (LLM) family, Gemini, AI Writer, and AI Recording Summary in upcoming models like the Reno12 series and the flagship devices from the Find X family. The company has also partnered with MediaTek to optimize processors for better storage and computational efficiency in future flagship models.

Finally, OPPO’s next smartphones will offer enhanced voice and text conversion capabilities for a more accurate and natural user experience. These collaborations demonstrate OPPO’s commitment to staying at the forefront of AI technology in the smartphone industry.
