The Yemeni rebels, also known as the Houthis, have claimed responsibility for attacking two US Navy destroyers with drones in the Red Sea. According to a statement released by the Houthis, their air force successfully conducted devastating operations against the American destroyers, achieving their objectives in both instances. In addition to this, the Houthis have also reported that three ships were recently attacked in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea for violating a ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine.

The targeted ships were the commercial vessels Larego Desert and MSC Mechela, as well as the Minerva Lisa in the Red Sea. The Houthis specifically consider the MSC Mechela to be an Israeli vessel. It is unclear what specific actions led to these attacks or why these particular ships were targeted. However, it is clear that the Houthis are not afraid to take action against those they perceive as violating their territorial rights or supporting Israel’s presence in Palestine.
