In an interview with Variety at the Los Angeles premiere of her Netflix Sci-Fi film Atlas, Hollywood actress Jennifer Lopez expressed her belief that AI can be ‘really scary’. She plays a data analyst in the movie who has to rely on AI to save Earth from an evil robot. Lopez shared her concerns about AI based on her past negative encounters with the technology, such as seeing manipulated ads for skincare products and photos of her face covered in wrinkles.

Despite fears of AI replacing human jobs in various industries, including Hollywood, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos expressed confidence in human creativity. He believes that AI cannot replicate the talent of great writers or performers, and it is ultimately the person who uses AI effectively that can excel in their job.

The recent dispute between OpenAI and actress Scarlett Johansson regarding the use of her voice for their AI model ChatGPT 4o has also heightened concerns in Hollywood. Johansson accused the ChatGPT-maker of stealing her voice without permission, highlighting the ethical challenges surrounding AI technology.
