The Hollidaysburg boys tennis team had an impressive season in 2024, finishing with a record of 19-1. They clinched the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference team tennis title with a thrilling 5-0 victory over Bedford. Ben Johnson, Garrett Bouchard, and Michael Waibel earned singles wins, while the doubles team of Felix Xu-Yvan Chen and Alex Arbogast-Jacob Sidney also secured a victory.

Coach Brian Denis praised his team for ending the season on a high note and highlighted their hard work and dedication. Looking ahead, he mentioned that the team has a strong core returning and hopes they will continue to improve in the offseason.

In the singles matches, Johnson defeated Ruffley with ease, Bouchard defeated Clapper in a closely contested match, and Waibel defeated Trimeloni in straight sets. In the doubles matches, Xu and Chen defeated Becker and Gable with their exceptional play, while Arbogast and Sidney defeated Ednie and Greenawalt in a nail-biting three-set match.

Hollidaysburg’s season record stands at 19-1, while Bedford’s record is 15-3. The team’s success highlights their talent and commitment to excellence in high school tennis.
