The Florida Department of Health has issued a health alert for Hillsborough County, informing residents of a confirmed case of locally acquired dengue fever. This mosquito-borne illness has prompted officials to coordinate surveillance and prevention efforts, including conducting aerial spraying for mosquitoes. Residents are urged to take precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

As part of these efforts, the Department of Health in Hillsborough County is encouraging residents to report any dead birds to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s website.
