Amaia Jackson, a talented high school guard from the class of 2025, recently visited Rutgers women’s basketball team on an unofficial visit. With an impressive list of offers from top programs across the country, Jackson is a highly sought-after recruit. Rutgers extended an offer to Jackson in late May after she transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida from New York. She currently plays for the Miami Suns EYBL team.

Aside from her visit to Rutgers, Jackson also recently visited Fairfield University as she continues to explore her college options. Other schools that have offered Jackson include Clemson, Memphis, Mississippi State, Missouri, UPenn, and Penn State. Rutgers head coach, Coquese Washington, has been successful in recruiting top talent, with the 2024 class being particularly strong.

The Rutgers women’s basketball program has had success in recent years, with standout players like Kiyomi McMiller and Zachara Perkins leading the way. McMiller, a five-star guard, was a highly ranked recruit and ultimately chose Rutgers over other top programs like Arizona State, Baylor, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, and Ole Miss. McMiller and Perkins are expected to play key roles in the program’s success in both the short and long term.

Jackson took to social media to share her excitement about her visit to Rutgers and signaled that she is actively considering the program as a potential destination for her college career. As she continues to explore her options and receive offers from top schools
