Lisa Uganski, the current Health Planning and Promotion Manager at the Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH), will be taking over the role of Deputy Health Officer starting June 3, 2024. This announcement comes after the retirement of Deputy Health Officer Marcia Mansaray, who has been with OCDPH for nearly 20 years.

Mansaray began her career at OCDPH in 2006 as a health promotion specialist and has held several positions within the department throughout her tenure, including senior epidemiologist. She has been instrumental in leading the department and community through the COVID-19 pandemic as Deputy Health Officer since 2020.

Uganski, who has been with OCDPH since 2000 when she started as a registered dietitian and health educator, expressed excitement about her new opportunity and is dedicated to continuing the department’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County residents. She is confident that her knowledge, expertise, and passion for serving the community will be valuable assets for OCDPH moving forward.

Health Officer Adeline Hambley praised Mansaray for her service and leadership, noting her wisdom, empathy, and grace. Hambley expressed sadness at Mansaray’s retirement but is looking forward to Uganski stepping into the role of deputy health officer. She believes that Uganski’s skills and experience make her an excellent fit for this important position and is excited to see how she will contribute to OCDPH’s mission to promote public health in Ottawa County.
